THE BATTLE AGAINST WAR ON CORRUPTION

We, the Progressives Solidarity Forum have watched in total dismay, the reaction of OlisaMetuh, the PDP spokesperson on the invitation of Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate Minority Leader by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the allegation of financial misappropriation during his tenure as Governor of Akwa-Ibom state.

The orchestrated drama on the press conference in Abuja where Mr. OlisaMetuh, the |PDP National Publicity Secretary noted that that the investigation was also aimed at weakening the PDP ahead of the 2019 elections. This orchestrated rantings of a shrunk morale of the PDP is unmarketable.

Nigerians are tired of the PDP opposition rantings on this issue of corruption. Nigerians have given the mandate to President Buhari to fight and eliminate corruption from the system. There is total abhorrent for corruption all over the world.

The previous administration was a PDP-led government that plunged our economy to an abysmal state. It is only logical for this administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to go after the previous government that have looted our treasury to return our money and prosecuted if found guilty.

The PDP opposition led party are becoming a clog on the wheel of progress against the war on corruption by persistently pointing fingers at the APC party that have been in opposition in the last 16 years as co-accomplice on corruption.

We are very confident that the war on corruption of Mr. President is not selective nor witch-hunting of any political party. It is only obvious to investigate the activities of the immediate past administration, most especially when the former president, Mr. EbeleGoodluck Jonathan did not allow due diligence during the hand-over process.

The indispensable here is that Mr. OlisaMetuh should stage his efficacy in opposition in a more logical manner as the era of impunity and total disregards for the rule of law are over. It is very misleading for Olisa Metuah to accuse President Buhari of dictatorial tendencies and comparing it with a military regime.

In as much as we believe in the fundamental right of every Nigerian, to co-exist under the Human Right Charter as enshrine in the United Nations Charter. This President has applied due process and the rule of law in pursuing those that have looted our treasury over the last 8 years.

The PDP-led opposition party must allow the people to retrieve our stolen wealth and we would support this administration in all actions in retrieving our stolen money.
